The Vision:
Planted through prayer, rooted in experience
In 1984, the Holy Spirit imparted a clear and lasting vision for a sanctuary of complete restoration. What began as a quiet revelation—a long, tree-lined road leading to a peaceful lodge—was rooted in a single purpose: to offer weary ministry leaders a place where the weight of responsibility gives way to the refreshing presence of God.
The Shepherd’s Rest was birthed to serve senior leadership couples, elders, and missionaries who give selflessly to the body of Christ. Designed with quiet guest rooms, warm gathering spaces, and peaceful prayer chapels tucked along winding grounds, every detail of the sanctuary exists to foster quiet reflection, prayer, and deep spiritual renewal. Here, leaders are invited to lay down the pressures of oversight, step away from agendas, and allow their souls to be rekindled in their first love for the Lord.
The Founders:
Roeh Todd & Pastor Deborah
With over 40 years of marriage and active ministry, Todd and Deborah have dedicated their lives to serving the local and global church. Their journey spans virtually every level of leadership, having served as youth and young adult pastors, associate pastors, and as a senior pastoral couple for over 26 years. Through decades of hands-on ministry, they came to deeply understand both the profound joy of kingdom work and the heavy, often unseen burden that senior leaders carry.
The calling behind The Shepherd’s Rest was born in 1984, when the Holy Spirit gave both Todd and Deborah identical, independent visions for a place of sacred retreat. Before they had even shared their individual experiences with one another, God had already placed the exact same picture on their hearts: a sanctuary dedicated to washing the feet of weary leaders, refreshing their souls, and restoring their "first love" for the Lord. When they finally spoke of what God had revealed, it served as a defining milestone in their relationship, weaving their individual callings into a single, unified purpose.
Today, Todd and Deborah bring that four-decade vision to life through The Shepherd’s Rest. Grounded in a heart of quiet service, intercession, and hospitality, they personally welcome each couple into a space of complete peace and privacy. Their prayer is simple yet profound: to see every shepherd who steps onto the grounds deeply renewed, strengthened in their marriage, and reignited in their passion for Christ before returning to the work God has set before them.
